Feeling at peace in this moment, enjoying my coffee with RBK, watching and listening to the desert animals and birds and smelling the spring flowers around us here at Camelback Inn. I haven't a care in the world. This is one of my favorite places in the world. Camelback's legacy as an historic inn of the southwest and the stillness of the environment, despite it's location in a busy Scottsdale neighborhood make it one of my favorites.
Last night, at Camelback, a Hindu wedding was being held. The explosion of color everywhere was really something to see. It attracted quite a crowd of spectators. We didn't get to see much, though, as our friend, Dale, had invited us to one of the last spring training D-Backs games, this one being held at Chase Field. Their son worked there for a couple of years, and Dale shared some interesting stories about the organization and the impressive stadium. We had a great time.

Returning to the resort, we saw dozens of sky lanterns floating above the wedding guests. I did a little research and found that the lanterns are sent up just before the wedding couple leaves for their honeymoon and are supposed to prevent evil spirits from entering the area.
