Gabbie poised for a wine jump |
As is my blogging habit, I report on every dog host I encounter. At Casita Snooze, there are two much-loved dogs, Bella and Gabbie, who are best friends and rarely apart from each other. It's amazing how well they get along considering that their personalities are polar opposite. I think it's because they're respectful of one another. Bella, a labradoodle, has hip problems and ambles through the house rather deliberately, happy to take life at a comfortable pace. She is a kind, old soul. Gabbie is poodle-ish, in all ways. She is a character: always has a squeaky toy in her mouth, races through the house, waiting anxiously for the next activity to take place. One of my favorite Gabbie habits is her preoccupation with dancing light on the floor. She spends much of her spare time looking for it, playing with it, anticipating it. The light can come from almost any source, and come it does living in Tucson, but her favorite is from a glass of wine. Gabbie has learned that the sound of a cork popping means the glasses will soon be poured and probably taken outside where there will undoubtedly be pretty, colored light moving about. She has the highest vertical leap of any dog I've ever seen and when that cork pops, you'd better start pouring!

Kosta-Browne Kanzler PN |
Our dinner on this particular evening was fantastic! We ate on the patio under a sky full of stars, with the perfect wine to match, a 2008 Kosta-Browne Kanzler Pinot Noir. It doesn't get any better than this.
